The People’s Car went all-electric when Volkswagen unveiled the ID4 (stylized ID.4) for model year 2021. It’s the German automaker’s first mass-market electric vehicle for the modern era, and the harbinger of a diverse lineup of VW EVs that will be badged with the “ID” prefix. For 2022 a dual-motor powertrain becomes available, bringing AWD capability to this electric crossover, plus there’s up to 20 miles of extra range and three years of free charging.
The all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS can cover great distance on a single charge – and in total luxury. If you’re after the most technologically advanced luxury sedan, then the Mercedes-Benz EQS should be high on your consideration list. The Mercedes-Benz EQC is a new all-electric crossover SUV that’s based on the regular subcompact GLA-class. Power comes from an all-electric powertrain that generates 188 hp or 268 hp, which both source power from the battery pack mounted under the floor of the vehicle. The interior includes gold accents and other trimmings. That means five seats with a reasonable amount of cargo space inside the rear hatch.

It is described as a ‘fun city-car’ rather than a ‘country cruiser’ due to the limited range offered by its 29kWh battery, however it does have fast-charge DC to facilitate longer day-trips beyond the range of a single charge. The Mini electric has a quoted range of 233 km under the new European WLTP test cycle. Real world driving range however is likely closer to 200 km
