With a battery-electric vehicle having the issue of recharge time and a plug-in hybrid having the issue that the ‘range extender’ is usually a small petrol engine why not design a hydrogen fuel-cell hybrid? The EV is already e control and e drive. You get away with a smaller battery which powers small to medium trips, supplemented with a hydrogen tank for quick refilling that supplies a fuel cell which gives the exact same power as an e drive system when the primary battery is depleted. It also doesn’t burn fossil fuels so it should qualify for the same environmental incentives. I’m excited to hear you guys’ thoughts on this.

Hydrogen is a great idea for large vehicles and ships but not cars. Unfortunately, it uses more electricity to make the hydrogen then to run the car.

I thought Hydrogen was a generator to charge batteries? Please correct me if I’m wrong.
