With a battery-electric vehicle having the issue of recharge time and a plug-in hybrid having the issue that the ‘range extender’ is usually a small petrol engine why not design a hydrogen fuel-cell hybrid? The EV is already e control and e drive. You get away with a smaller battery which powers small to medium trips, supplemented with a hydrogen tank for quick refilling that supplies a fuel cell which gives the exact same power as an e drive system when the primary battery is depleted. It also doesn’t burn fossil fuels so it should qualify for the same environmental incentives. I’m excited to hear you guys’ thoughts on this.
