The People’s Car went all-electric when Volkswagen unveiled the ID4 (stylized ID.4) for model year 2021. It’s the German automaker’s first mass-market electric vehicle for the modern era, and the harbinger of a diverse lineup of VW EVs that will be badged with the “ID” prefix. For 2022 a dual-motor powertrain becomes available, bringing AWD capability to this electric crossover, plus there’s up to 20 miles of extra range and three years of free charging.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is a new all-electric crossover SUV that’s based on the regular subcompact GLA-class. Power comes from an all-electric powertrain that generates 188 hp or 268 hp, which both source power from the battery pack mounted under the floor of the vehicle.
